Iowa Farm Work Ethic |
| I grew up on a farm in Southeast Iowa. My family has been farming since the 1850's. I would bring to the Treasurer's job the work ethic and values that are part of the Iowa farm family experience. |
Want to Work for the Citizens of Muscatine County. |
| I am grateful to Muscatine County for all that it has afforded my family and myself, during our years here. It has been a wonderful place for Sharon and me to raise our two sons, Mark and Tom. Most of our 45 years of marriage have been spent here. I am honored by this opportunity to contribute to the County and to our friends and neighbors. |
My Broad Range of Experience Gives me Understandings that Benefit a Public Servant and a County Treasurer. |
The life experiences that I have give me an ability to view issues and problems from many perspectives. It gives me the ability to relate to and work with people from a broad range of backgrounds to solve problems and understand their perspectives.
I have been an Assistant Director of Financial Aid at the University of Iowa and Coordinator of Financial Aid at Muscatine Community College.
I have been a Counselor and Advisor at Muscatine Community Collegefor 28 years. I am part owner of the family Iowa Century Farm south of Mt. Pleasant in Henry County, Iowa.
I have dug ditches and worked in factories. Other experiences include a brief stint as a butcher, several years as a technician in a research lab, as well as the last 8 years owning and operating a book store.
